Questions About Duct Cleaning
How Long Will It Take?
The average sized home without crawl space access required, generally takes 3 to 4 hours. This time can vary depending on the amount of dust and debris int he air ducts, the amount of ducts in the home and the way the system is configured. If crawl space access is required, this can add 30 minutes or more to the job time. Larger houses can take 5 to 6 hours or more.
Will It Be Dusty?
The process of cleaning the air handling system will not cause any dust to come of the air ducts, into your home. If there is exposed ducting in your home, any dust and debris that may be on top of the air ducts can fall off during the cleaning process. The agitation devices do rattle the duct work and can cause anything top of the duct work to fall off.
If this is a concern, you might want to wipe down the top of the duct work before the cleaning.
Is Duct Cleaning Worth It?
Absolutely! Think of it this way, your air handling system is the lungs of your home. Wouldn't you want your lungs to be clean? What your home breathes, you breathe.
In the average sized home, the air circulates approximately 7 times per hour when the air handling system is running.
