Dryer Vent Cleaning & Inspection
Scope of Work and How to Prepare for Your Appointment

All work is performed by owner, Neil Ballard.

How to Prepare for Your Appointment:

  • Please do not pull out the dryer or detach the flex hose ahead of your appointment.

  • Please ensure there is ample room to work around the exterior of the dryer vent.

  • Please ensure the area around the dryer is free from objects (shelves, clothes, storage, etc.) We will need enough space to easily pull the dryer out for the Complete cleaning, when possible.

  • Please ensure the dryer is empty.

Dryer Vent Inspection - Scope of Work:

We will inspect the lint trap and the flex hose (when visible without moving the laundry units), We will inspect the dryer for fire hazards, and we will run an airflow test (as long as the vent is clearly visible from the ground on the exterior).

Complete Dryer Vent Cleaning - Scope of Work:

  • Cleaning out the dryer lint trap crevice to make sure the blower is clear of debris.

  • Visual inspection of the dryer for fire hazards.

  • We pull out the dryer and clean out the transition flex hose,

  • We vacuum the back of the dryer where the flex hose connects.

  • We vacuum the floor behind the dryer.

  • After reconnecting the dryer: We clean the run of the vent from the exterior using high-powered compressed air. Our dryer vent cleaning tool is 50ft in length. We will clean as much of the vent as we can reach from the exterior. Please let us know if your dryer vent is really long.

  • For the final step, we test the airflow from the exterior to verify the dryer is exhausting properly.

If your dryer can't be easily pulled out without moving the washing machine, or if you have a stacking/oversized dryer or your dryer is on top of a drawer/pedestal, please let us know prior to booking. In these situations we have two options:

  1. We can perform the Essential cleaning if the flex hose can not be easily detached without moving the washing machine / oversized appliance.

  2. In most cases, we can use our Air Sled appliance mover for an additional rate of $75 per unit if an oversized or stacking dryer has to be moved. We will not use the Air Sled without prior consent of the homeowner.

Essential Dryer Vent Cleaning - Scope of Work:

  • Cleaning out the dryer lint trap crevice to make sure the blower is clear of debris.

  • Visual inspection of the dryer for fire hazards.

  • We inspect the condition and connection of the flex hose (if visible without moving appliances).

  • We clean the run of the vent from the exterior using high-powered compressed air. Our dryer vent cleaning tool is 50ft in length. We will clean as much of the vent as we can reach from the exterior.

  • For the final step, we test the airflow from the exterior to verify the dryer is exhausting properly.

Washer Hoses: If we are using the Air Sled to pull out a stacking/difficult to move laundry unit and the washer hoses are older than 5 years, we recommend having new 6ft hoses on hand as Neil will replace them for you at no additional cost. Washer hose seals break down and often leak if they are old.
